    Gara difficile, interrotta da una violenta pioggia.

    Pioggia e fango fino al sabato, quasi asciutto la domenica. Questo ha creato un pò di difficoltà ai piloti che non avevano riferimenti con pista asciutta per le finali di domenica.

  • “The fourth round of the mid german nitro on-road regionals took place at the nice track of the MBSC Wächtersbach. In qualifying Shepherd driver Olaf Engelmann was in good shape and claimed the 3rd place in the grid for the 30-min main final in the 1/8th scale class. The main final saw a great battle between Stefan Hanauer and pole-setter Philip Sting until the first pitstop when Stefan flamed out. Later on also Philip ran into trouble and had to retire due to technical problems. Olaf took over the lead and he managed to stay up front until the checkered flag. Peter Poldvere crossed the finishing line in second position 1 lap down with Dominik Schrumpf completing the podium in third position.”


  • Quarto round in Portogallo, ottime le prestazioni XRAY, eccole nel dettaglio!

    In the past weekend the 4th round of the Portuguese Nationals took place at Pista das Travessas, Sao
    Joao da Madeira, a very demanding track with a beautiful layout.
    Saturday was a very busy day, my engine was very strange and with a temperature of 33 the tires
    were flying, a new set of tires without trimming only last 15 minutes.
    Race day came and with almost hitting 40º of temperature and 60º in the asphalt, I started with
    number 2 for the qualifications, in the first heat I add a glow plug problem so I was forced to go in
    the pits ending with 16 laps in 5:10:03 making 3rd overall, second quali came and I felt the engine
    getting rich I went straight to the pits and my dad tuned it again, making 16 laps in 5:04:58 still too
    slow, in the third qualification my dad fixed the engine problem and I was finally ready to do my best,
    I went with new tires and almost broke Bruno Coelho track record(17.689), but I was happy with
    myself because I was able to break my record I did 17:738, last year the best I achieved was 17:869
    so no question my NT1 was very fast, but still not a perfect quali, my engine flamed out in the last lap
    making 16 laps in 4:58:03 being the fastest time of the morning, and I was able to take TQ.
    Super Pole went to Tomas Andrade, our youngest XRAY driver. Unfortunately only 1 more XRAY
    driver was able to pass to the final (Ricardo Sousa), the others had problems but they all had a great
    racing.
    So the final came, and as I said my problem was the tires, I didn’t know what I should do, I was afraid
    that I changed tires and loose places , but after talking to my dad I figured out the best tactic, also I
    had to be in front of Franco Vilarinho to be in 1st place in the Nats. I started in 1st place, and with no
    mistakes I started to give a lot of laps in advance, at 15 minutes I was able to change 4 tires and still
    be in 1st place with 1 lap in advance of the second (that didn't change tires), so for me was just be
    safe until the end and I was, ending 3 laps in advance of the second.
    On the other hand Tomas at the 17 minute mark, after a change of tires his shock broke and spined
    out in the begging of the straight, but with his great driving he was able to take 3rd place. Ricardo
    Sousa also had made some mistakes and ended up in 7th.

    to be focus on the 1/10 class, but we had another driver Ricardo Rocha racing, that was unlucky and
    broke his engine in the semifinal ending in 11th place.

    Saturday, June 25 the 5th Round of the Swiss Racing Cup was held in Sitterdorf. After some
    trial with my tires and ending up 4th in the qualifying, I decided to change to my Galaxy tires
    for the final.

    With the Galaxy tires, my NT1 was perfect from the first lap on. I won the half finals and was
    on pole position for the final. In the Final Philipp Buehler, the top qualifier, put me under
    some pressure. About three minutes into the race I lost the lead due to a small error I made,
    but with a very fast first pit stop done by my dad, I regained the lead. In the end I won the
    race in front of Philipp Buehler and Michael Schäfer by almost 7 seconds. Was a great day!
    In the 1/8, my Team mate Beat Heiniger finished the Saturday’s race in 2nd position with his
    RX8. Very nice race!!!

    Sunday, June 26 the 6th Round of the Swiss Racing Cup
    Sunday, new day..new race! Really fast was on Sunday Philipp Buehler. After the
    qualification rounds he finished just 1 second behind me, followed by Michael Schäfer and
    Jakob Buehler.
    On Sunday I wasn't so lucky. After losing the screw from my 2nd speed shaft, I was able to
    gain up to the group and achieved the fastest lap of the whole weekend. But then I made
    another mistake and damaged my rear wing and finished only on 9th position.
    My XRAY mates made a very nice race and the Buehler Family finished in 1st and 2nd
    position. Congratulation to my team mate Martin Wenger who won the race with his RX8.
    In the end it was a very nice weekend and we are really looking forward to the next race in
    Langenthal on the 13th/14th August 2016.

    • Buongiorno a tutti, sono un ex modellista a cui è tornata la scimmia 😄 Ho corso per 8 anni a livello agonistico con 1/8 Off-road nitro, poi ho abbandonato l'hobby e ora, dopo circa 10 anni, volevo riprendere a fare qualche garetta. Nella mia zona (Vicenza) alcuni amici sono passati nel frattempo al GT 1/8 BLS e mi sto approcciando all'acquisto del modello. Mi sono un pò arenato su un argomento: ho notato che le 1/8 GT BLS di ultimissima generazione sono prive di differenziale centrale, mentre quelle dei miei amici che hanno un paio d'anni hanno ancora i 3 differenziali... Adoperando io l'auto prevalentemente per le famose "gare di sagra", improvvisate su piazzali e quindi molto tortuose e con rettilinei limitati, ho il timore che possa essere penalizzante l'assenza del differenziale centrale. Mi conviene prendere il penultimo modello con differenziale centrale? Se qualcuno ha esperienza in merito e mi può dare consigli gliene sarei grato   Ciao a tutti

    • Salve vorrei aprire una pista a Roma si off road 1/8 che una on road 1/10 quanto deve essere grande il campo ?
    • scusami ma....avresti potuto aprire una discussione ad hoc ma vabbe! evidentemente e' molto duro di accoppiamento sto motore ma potrebbe anche essere poco potente l'avviatore o scarica la batteria dello stesso,oppure lo hai ingrassato troppo di carburazione e con troppa miscela incombusta il pistone viene frenato tipo blocco idraulico e complice la conicita' dell'accoppiamento si blocca al punto morto superiore,in ogni caso potresti fare in modo che il gruppo carter,cilindro e pistone sia caldo prima di avviarlo, puoi' usare o una pistola termica hobbistica o anche un buon asciugacapelli che scalda per bene ,devi scaldare la zona tra carter e testa ,con la pistola termica poco anche venti secondi occhio che la pistola termica arriva a centinaia di gradi ,mentre con l'asciugacapelli qualche minuto anche tre di continuo e poi ,col pistone sceso in basso metti in moto e lascia il minimo allegro almeno il primo pieno,poi a seconda del rodaggio che decidi di fare continui il secondo pieno a terra e cosi' via,ogni volta che lo spegni accertati di scendere il pistone in basso durante il raffreddamento,cosi' a grandi linee,se cerchi nel forum ci sono tante discussioni riguardo rodaggi e complicazioni in merito.   ciao
